Torny's Golf List Condition Rating Scale RATING | DESCRIPTION | 10 | The club is new, has not hit a ball at any time. May still be in shrink wrap. Comes with head cover (as appropriate). | 9 | The club may be ex-shop display and show some marks from handling, transport or display racks but is otherwise "as new". There are no signs of the club having been used on course but it may have hit balls in an inside driving area. We would describe this club as "Mint" if there are no apparent cosmetic marks. The club will come with the "as new" head cover where appropriate. | 8 | The club is near new with minor signs of use. It has no marks on the lacquer surface (of a wood or hybrid) and only minor cosmetic ball marks on the face or very fine swing marks on the sole. It should come with the original head cover (for a wood) in near new condition. | 7 | This club has had regular use over one or more seasons but has been cared for from new. There will be no chips or scratches, or sky marks on the upper surface of the club head and only normal ball impact marks and swing marks on the metal surfaces of the head. The club may come with an original head cover. | 6 | This club has had regular use and shows cosmetic signs of wear on all surfaces of the club. It may have minor marking of the lacquer surface of the head including the possibility of “sky” marks but there will be no dents or signs of impact with rocks, or concrete scrapes. Marking should be visible in the pictures of the actual club(s). It may not have a head cover. | 5 | This club has had regular use over a number of seasons. It will show significant cosmetic marking on all surfaces . Unless this club is of a top quality brand, with some potential for restoration, it will have little value.
